TYPE LOCALITY: Guatemala, Alta Verapaz Dept., Coban .

DISTRIBUTION: Intermediate elevations of Middle America from E Oaxaca, Mexico, to W Panama.

SYNONYMS: apricus, cacabatus , endersi , episcopi, escazuensis, garichensis, irazu , leridensis, rufoniger, stenopygius, subnubilis.

COMMENTS: Hooper (1972) retained apricus, irazu , and rufoniger as subspecies.
