Material studied. Holotype male. NEW CALEDONIA, 12–25.v.1989, Bonnet de Larbogne & Chazeau (in MNHN). Paratype. 1 male, Rivière Bleue N.P., (parc 7), rainforest, 21.vii.1992, Bonnet de Larbogne, Chazeau & Guilbert (in MNHN).
Description. Male. Head. Brown, antenna unicolorous pale brown, maxillary palpus pale brown. Eye bridge 2–4 facets wide. Face with 8–13 scattered longer and shorter setae. Clypeus with 2 setae. Maxillary palpus with 3 palpomeres; palpomere 1 longer than palpomere 3, palpomere 2 shortest; palpomere 1 with 1 seta, with a dorsal patch of sensilla; surface of antennal flagellomeres rough, flagellomere 4 1.5x as long as wide, the neck shorter than broad, the longest setae shorter than the width of flagellomere. Thorax. Pale brown, setae pale. Anterior pronotum with 2–3 setae. Episternum 1 with 5 setae. Scutum with short dorsocentrals, with 2–3 stronger laterals, scutellum with 2 longer and some short setae. Wing. Hyalinous. Length 1.3–1.5 mm. Width/length 0.50. Veins indistinct. R1/R 1.0. c/ w 0.75. r-m and than bM subequal in length, both r-m and bM non-setose. Halter pale brown.
Legs. Yellow. Coxal setae pale. Front tibial organ with pale fine vestiture forming a small demarcated patch, similar to Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 B. Front tibial spur slightly longer than the tibial width. Claws with teeth. Abdomen. Brown, setae dark. Hypopygium, Figs 9 View FIGURE 9 A–B. Brown, concolorous with abdomen. Gonocoxa longer than gonostylus, mesial margin with sparse setosity. Gonostylus narrow, straight, with the mesial side impressed; with a dense apical vestiture, with three slender sharp megasetae, with a long subapical whiplash seta. Tegmen broader than long, apically truncate, laterally straight, with a faint broad apical process.

Etymology. The name is Latin, tenuis , narrow, referring to the slender gonocoxa and gonostylus.
