Measurements: Males. Total length: 1.14–1.29 mm; antennal segments: I: 0.07–0.09 mm; II: 0.06–0.08 mm; III: 0.3 mm; IV: 0.2–0.3 mm; width between eyes: 0.23–0.26 mm; pronotum length: 0.18–0.24 mm; pronotum width: 0.46–0.50 mm; scutellum length: 0.20–0.23 mm; abdominal width: 0.44–0.48 mm.
Females. Total length: 1.04–1.11 mm; antennal segments: I: 0.07–0.08 mm; II: 0.07 mm; III and IV: unknown; width between eyes: 0.24–0.27 mm; pronotum length: 0.14–0.18 mm; pronotum width: 0.42–0.45 mm; scutellum length: 0.16–0.18 mm; abdominal width: 0.52–0.58 mm.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other Hoplonannus species by the process of male mediotergite 7 (mt7p) short, curved, with a small notch close to the apex ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A–B). Anophoric process (anop) very long, tapering from base to apex, subdistally with a short, truncated projection ( Fig. 3A; 3E View FIGURE 3 ). Right paramere (rp) curved, very long, almost as long as pygophore (pyg), thin with widened apex bearing two small claw-like projections ( Fig. 3A; 3D View FIGURE 3 ).
Description. Male ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A–C). Antenna yellow. Head, pronotum and scutellum dark brown. Abdominal tergites brown, sternites dark brown. Legs yellow. Hemelytra: corium dark brown with a white fascia on corium and clavus, membrane whitish. Hindwing hyaline.
Head. Ocelli present. Scattered pale setae on frons, pair of long conspicuous pale ocular setae, each one close to compound eye. Another pair of setae, smaller than ocular setae, each one close to antenna. Labium surpassing forelegs, not reaching midlegs.
Thorax. Pronotum with scattered pale setae all over the disc, posterior margin slightly convex. Scutellum about half of pronotum in length, apex rounded. Femora with scarce setae along all their length; tibiae with two rows of setae; tarsal formula 3-3-3.
Abdomen. Mediotergite 8 (mt8) smaller and narrower than mediotergite 7 (mt7), without a process ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Pygophore broadly visible dorsally ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Anophoric process very long and sinuous, bifurcated close to apex ( Fig. 3A; 3E View FIGURE 3 ). Left paramere (lp) twisted and short, tongue-shaped, bearing distally many long setae ( Fig. 3A; 3C View FIGURE 3 ). Aedeagus (aed) long and coiled ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ).
Female. Brachypterous ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D–F), similar to the male in size and color. Head without ocelli. Forewings elytroid, uniformly dark brown. Tarsal formula 2-2-3. Abdominal segments symmetric.
Abdomen ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 A–D; 7A–C). Abdominal tergites without setae, except tergite 8 (t8) that bears a median cluster of setae on posterior half and three setae around spiracle. Tergite 7 (t7) with median dorsal abdominal gland scars (dag) on the posterior margin. Tergite 9 (t9) covered with setae and almost triangular, with a medial membranous anal tube (at). Base of anal tube with a contiguous pigmented structure, subquadrangular, with the same width of the anal tube. Sternites covered with setae; sternites 1 to 6 wider than long, sternite 7 (st7) almost as wide as long. Sternite 7 with a pair of small rounded projections in posterior margin (posterior projection of sternite (pps7)). Gonapophyses 8 (gap8) elongate and filiform, gradually tapering toward apex, widely separated at base. Gonapophyses 9 (gap9) thin, short, and straight. Gonapophyses 8 and 9 not interlocking. Spermathecal reservoir (spr) elongate, segmented, and U-shaped; spermathecal duct (spd) long and coiled; spermathecal gland (spgl) small and rounded; spermathecal gland duct (spgd) straight and narrowed.
Etymology. Named for the posterior anophoric process that is bifid.
Distribution. Brazil (Pará).
