Material examined. 12 males, 15 females from Spizella passerina (Bechstein, 1798) ( Passeriformes : Passerellidae ), (SM 1965), CANADA, Manitoba, Winnipeg, 13 May 2009, coll. T.D. Galloway and R. Duarte.
This species was described from the Chipping Sparrow, S. passerina , in Georgia, USA ( Mironov & Chandler 2017). In Canada, this mite is reported for the first time.
