Material examined. 6 males, 18 females from Geothlypis trichas (Linnaeus, 1766) ( Passeriformes : Parulidae ), (SM 2625), CANADA, Manitoba, Oak Hammock Marsh, 27 May 2014, coll. T.D. Galloway; 15 males, 20 females from G. philadelphia (Wilson, A, 1810) ( Passeriformes : Parulidae ), (SM 1661), CANADA, Manitoba, Oak Hammock Marsh, 21 May 2007, coll. T.D. Galloway and T.M. Whiklo.
This species was previously known from the Common Yellowthroat, G. trichas , in Georgia and Florida, USA ( Mironov & Chandler 2017). In Canada, this mite is recorded for the first time from the type host and from the Mourning Warbler, G. philadelphia .
