Ypsolopha leuconotella ( Snellen, 1884) [Fig. 13]

Cerostoma leuconotella Snellen, 1884: 157 , pl. 8: 4 [type locality: Khingan Mts., Jewish Autonomous Region, Russia]. = hebeiensis Yang, 1977: 103 –104 ( Ypsolophus View in CoL ) [type locality: Xinglong, Yanshi, China]. n. syn.

New records: CHINA – [Jilin] 13, Mt. Changbaishan, 10 VIII 1974, IZCAS. Distribution: Japan ( Moriuti 1977), China ( Yang 1977), Russia ( Zinchenko and Ponomarenko 2008), Kazakhstan and Europe.

Remarks: The holotype of Ypsolopha hebeiensis Yang has been lost, but a paratype which was photographed in Yang (1977) is still extant. The first author (JCS) checked the paratype and noticed its superficial similarity to Y. leuconotella . Since our dissection of Yang’s type specimens was not allowed, instead, we have examined a topotype which was also identified as Y. hebeiensis by Yang. Based on our examination, we found that Y. hebeiensis is indistinguishable from Y. leuconotella in habitus and genital features (Fig. 13), thus we synonymize them.
