Tsang Wai Tak 17343 (UC) was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Trigonostemon heterophyllus Merr. (Merrill, 1930). However, the collection number on the label of the holotype specimen is 594, while its herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 17343. Thus, the collection number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
