2. Ardisia densilepidotula Merr. View in CoL ( Myrsinaceae ) in Lingnan Sci. J. 6(3): 284. 1928. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Danzhou , 3 September 1927, W. T. Tsang 761 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 16260) (holotype: UC non vidi; isotype: A 00112695 image!, NY 00016411 image!).
The name Ardisia densilepidotula Merr. was validly published based on Ts’ang Wai Tak 16260 (UC), which was designated as the type (Merrill, 1928a). Although we did not find the holotype specimen, the collection number on the labels of the two isotype specimens is 761, while the herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 16260. Therefore, the erroneous collection number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
