Ts’ang Wai Tak 16382 (UC) was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Dysoxylum hainanense Merr. (Merrill, 1928a). However, the collection number on the label of the holotype specimen is 883, while its herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 16382. Therefore, the erroneous collection number cited in the designation of type is to be corrected.
