13. Premna acuminatissima Merr. View in CoL ( Verbenaceae ) in Lingnan Sci. J. 6(3): 284. 1928. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Danzhou , 27 September 1927, W. T. Tsang 970 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 16469) (holotype: UC non vidi; Isotypes: A 00095355 image!, NY 00137934 image!).
The name Premna acuminatissima Merr. was validly published with the gathering Ts’ang Wai Tak 16469 in UC designated as the type (Merrill, 1928a). Although we did not find the holotype, the collection number on the labels of the two isotype specimens is 970, while the herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 16469. Thus, the collection number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
