The name Premna maclurei Merr. was validly published with the gathering Tsang Wai Tak 16845 in UC designated as the type (Merrill, 1928b). However, the collection number on the label of the holotype specimen is 96, while its herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 16845. Therefore, the collection number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
