Caloapenesia brevis Azevedo, 2004: 144 . ♂ Holotype. ♀. Allotype. VIETNAM, Ha Tinh, Huong Son, 1240 m, 18º22’N 105º30’E, 20.V.1998, M[alaise] T[rap], leg. L. Herman [AMNH].
Diagnosis. MALE. Uppermost tooth of mandible blunt. Median clypeal lobe convex. Pedicel short. Eye small. Mesopleuron with a small callus. Hypopygium with posterior margin slightly trilobate; median lobe angulate; median stalk short; lateral stalk present, spiniform, inconspicuous. Aedeagus uniformly wide; dorsal paramere with posterior margin angulate. FEMALE. Mandible with four conspicuous teeth. Palpal formula 5:3. Eye multifaceted. Mesoscutum triangular, slightly embraced by anterior margin of propodeum. Mesopleuron large in dorsal view. Propodeal disc very constricted anteriorly.
Distribution. Vietnam.
Remarks. Caloapenesia brevis is the only species that presents dorsal paramere with posterior margin angulate.
