Onukigallia Ishihara, 1955: 215 View in CoL ; Viraktamath, 1973: 311; Anufriev & Emeljanov, 1988: 71; Zhang & Li, 1999: 108. Viraktamath, 2011: 99 View Cited Treatment .
Type species: Agallia onukii Matsumura, 1912 by original designation.
Length: Males, 3.9–5.3 mm; females, 4.0– 5.4 mm.
Diagnosis. Head slightly wider than pronotum. Vertex slightly shorter medially than next to eye, posterior margin not sinuate behind eyes. Face distinctly longer than wide, lateral margins of genae almost straight. Ocelli closer to adjacent eyes than to each other. Frontoclypeus narrow and elongate, lateral margins nearly straight. Anteclypeus narrow at base broadest at 0.75 length near apex, projecting beyond genae, apex rounded. Lorum elongate and narrow, extending almost 0.5 length of lateral margins of frontoclypeus. Pronotum as long as or shorter than median length of mesonotum and scutellum together, with anterior margin behind eyes usually at lower level than other area, finely punctate. Forewings with three anteapical cells, venation prominent, m-cu2 vein usually present, rarely absent ( matsumurai and few specimens of fanjingensis and onukii ); claval veins without cross vein. Profemur row AD of uniform length, thin setae in one row; setae AD1 not very prominent; row PD of single row, but slightly irregularly arranged; intercalary row with 9–18 slender, long setae; setae on row AV sparse and regular. Protibial dorsal macrosetal formula 1+1. Metafemur apical macrosetae 2+1. Hind femoral macrosetal formula 2+1; hind tibial spinulation PD 8, AD 7, AV 6. Hind basitarsus with two platellae on distal transverse row.
Male pygofer, in lateral view, elongate without processes, hind margin with triangular caudal lobe with stout setae on surface and hair-like setae along caudal lobe. Subgenital plate, in lateral view, with longitudinal row of stout seta along median ventral surface and hair-like seta covering lateroventral surface. Style narrow, forked apically. Connective, in ventral view, laminate and longer than wide, with median lobe-like projection both on proximal and distal margins. Aedeagus with well developed dorsal apodeme, preatrium developed (except matsumurai ), aedeagal shaft elongate and curved dorsally, gonopore subapical. Tenth segment with well developed anal collar process.
Ovipositor of female slightly projecting beyond pygofer. Posterior margin of seventh sternite concave or convex. First pair of valvula ( Figs 41, 43, 45 View FIGURES 41 – 46 ) in lateral view dorsally curved, with sculpturing imbricate, extending over 2/3 of dorsal margin and attaining apex of dorsal margin, apex acute. Second valvula ( Figs 42, 44, 46 View FIGURES 41 – 46 ) in lateral view slightly curved dorsally, dorsal hyaline area on median part (except matsumurai ), one third of dorsal margin with small teeth, apex narrow and acute, with or without dorsal angular projection.
Distribution. China, Japan, Korea, Russia.
