The diagnosis of the genus was presented in Schmidt (2006a, 2013).
Distribution. Indo-Australian region, from India in the west to the Solomon Islands in the east, through Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the eastern part of Australia including Tasmania in the south.
