Type species. Stenochiton juloides H. Adams & Angas, 1864 View in CoL (= Chiton longicymba de Blainville, 1825 ), by monotypy.
Genus distribution. South and Western Australia. Shallow subtidal up to 94 m, on the leaves of sea-grasses ( Kaas & Van Belle 1994, Kaas et al. 2006 and own data).
