Basionym: Sansonia vandenbergii Chiron (2012: 85) .
Homotypic synonym: Pleurothallis vandenbergii (Chiron) Shaw (2014: 77) .
Distribution: Brazil, Bahia, Atlantic Rainforest (Chiron 2012).
We have been unable to obtain samples of Sansonia vandenbergii to include in our phylogenetic analyses. We follow Chiron (2012) and Chiron et al. (2016) who found this species to be related to S. bradei .
