Description. Colour. Yellow green to light brown. Frontoclypeus greenish. Vertex anteriorly with transverse submarginal dorsal fuscous line, fascia orange or yellow, sometimes absent. Ocelli pale yellow. Eyes dark brown. Hindwings hyaline, veins dark brown.

Body length, male 3.4 mm to the tip of forewing, female 4.2–4.8 mm to the tip of forewing, 5.0– 5.5 mm to tip of ovipositor. Female slender. Vertex subtriangular, sharply rounded anteriorly. Measurements of vertex length: interocular width: pronotal length: male 0.40: 0.60: 0.50, female 0.65: 0.72: 0.55.

Male genitalia: Subgenital plate with 3 setae laterally. Pygofer side sharply rounded apically. Aedeagus with pair of branched terminal processes, curving ventrally; dorsal pair slender and short, less than 1/4 length of ventral pair; shaft laterally expanded in 1/3 anteriorly and constricted at 2/3 basally, ventral cleft to preatrium, developed.

Female genitalia: Ovipositor extending beyond pygofer at its width. Seventh sternum with small triangular medial projection and notched on each side.

Distribution. This species has previously been recorded from Japan and Korea ( Metcalf 1963). It is similar to F. morrisoni , but can be distinguished by the shorter and more setose pygofer and the median pair of aedeagal processes, which are not sinuate as in F. morrisoni . Currently, we interpret the variation shown in Figs. 116–160 View FIGURES 116–133 View FIGURES 134–143 View FIGURES 144–160 to represent intraspecific variation, particularly in the coloration of the body and the shape of the shaft of the aedeagus.
