Diagnosis. The fuscous forewing marked with pink streaks is unique to T. rosebasis . The female genitalia are similar to those of T. rotundata in having a segment VIII covered with minute spines, a small sclerite at the base of ductus bursae and a large round signum situated near the posterior margin of corpus bursae. In T. rosebasis , however, the ostium bursae is larger and segment VIII is more broadly covered with spines compared to the latter.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 17G View FIGURE 17 ). Wingspan 11.5 mm. Head mixed cream and grey. Labial palpus with segment I and II grey, strongly mixed with cream dorsally; segment III dark fuscous, as long as and more slender than II. Antenna with scape cream, suffused with fuscous on posterior margin; flagellum dark fuscous except basal 1/3 or 1/4 of dorsal surface cream. Thorax dark fuscous, lateral margins pink. Tegula dark fuscous, strongly mixed with pink medially. Forewing ground color dark fuscous, pink in basal 1/3 or 1/4 below fold, at apex and at termen; apical spot elongate and surrounded by pink scales, apex falcate; markings pink: a slender costal streak running from basal 1/3 to 2/3 of wing along costa, then slightly curved toward termen; beyond this, another short and slender costal streak running from distal 1/4 of wing, not reaching half way across wing; beyond this costal strigulae alternating fuscous and pink; a broad, outwardly oblique streak from middle of dorsum, attenuated to fold, then longitudinally running toward apex as a slender line, nearly reaching second costal streak; a short, outwardly oblique streak from near lower angle of discal cell, almost confluent with former streak distally; tornal streak very short, running toward second costal streak; fringe on apical area dark fuscous with a median creamy band, on termen dark fuscous strongly mixed with pink basally, on dorsum fuscous, basally tinged with pink near tornus. Hindwing fuscous except near apex dirty-white; fringe fuscous except apical area white with a terminal black band. Legs cream and beige mixed; fore femur, tibia and tarsus fuscous on outer surface; mid and hind tibia with a fuscous oblique streak beyond middle on outer surface; mid and hind tarsi with first tarsomere fuscous on dorsal surface except apex, remaining tarsomeres with basal half fuscous.
Male unknown.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 58C View FIGURE 58 ). Papillae anales weakly sclerotized. Apophyses anteriores slightly longer than 1/2 length of apophyses posteriores. Segment VIII broadly concave posteriorly, consisting of numerous minute spines; sternum VIII longer than tergum VIII, strongly produced anteriorly in U-shape. Ostium bursae round. Ductus bursae moderately broad, with a short teardrop-shaped sclerite basally; ductus seminalis arising from near base. Corpus bursae obovate, twice as long as ductus bursae; signum round, near posterior margin, bulged inward, with minute denticles.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The species name is derived from Latin, roseus (pink) and basis (base), referring to the forewing with the pink base.
Remarks. Males are unknown for the species, but the morphological characteristics of the forewing and the female genitalia are typical of the pancratiastis -group.
