Diagnosis. The forewing markings are very similar to those of T. cochlearis , and the differences are stated under the latter species. The male genitalia are diagnosed by the spatulate apex of valva, the broad saccus and the aedeagus with a short triangular projection at basal 2/3.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 10F View FIGURE 10 ). Wingspan 9.5–12.0 mm. Head creamy white to light ocher, sometimes tinged with fuscous scales posteriorly. Labial palpus creamy white to light ocher; segment III slightly longer than II, usually tipped black. Antenna creamy white, distal 2/3 of flagellum alternately annulated black and ochre, male cilia shoter than diameter. Thorax creamy white to light ochre, usually with a broad fuscous median streak, tinged with carmine-pink anteriorly. Tegula creamy white to light ochre, inner margin sometimes strongly or slightly suffused with carmine-pink. Forewing ground color whitish ochre, often scattered with carmine-pink; costa with anterior edge black in basal 2/5, dark brown in distal 1/5; apical spot usually very reduced, bordered inwardly by grey scales; dorsum with a very large, semicircular white patch in basal 1/3 and after middle of wing, respectively, each patch surrounded by a narrow rim of carmine-pink scales, the scales often indistinct or absent; other markings dark brown: base often with a minute spot below costa; a costal spot at basal 1/3, sometimes enlarged and elongate; a broad, oblique band arising from near base of dorsum, longitudinally running over two white patches close to costa, curved downward after middle and reaching distal 1/4 of dorsum, interrupted by white scales near lower angle of discal cell, its posterior margin sometimes bordered by carmine-pink scales; two narrow, sometimes indistinct longitudinal streaks from distal 1/4 of wing, confluent with apical spot distally, sometimes bordered by carmine-pink scales; fringe on apex dark brown with a creamy white basal band, on termen carmine-pink with a metallic terminal band, on tornus creamy white, on dorsum grey sometimes tined with pink. Hindwing and fringe dark fuscous. Legs creamy white, slightly suffused with ochre; fore femur, tibia and tarsus black on outer surface; an oblique black streak after middle of mid tibia and near apex of hind tibia, respectively; mid and hind tarsi with an oblique black streak at middle of tarsomere I and base of tarsomeres II and III, respectively.

Male sternum VIII ( Fig. 24Q View FIGURE 24 ). Slightly shorter than 1/4 length of abdomen, with lateral margins gradually narrowed, bifurcate from posterior 1/4; inner margin U-shaped between two tines, pointed at apex.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 35A View FIGURE 35 ). Uncus tongue-shaped. Gnathos hook moderately long, simple. Tegumen approximately 3 times as long as uncus. Valva narrow, slightly constricted from basal 1/3, then broadened from 2/3, apex spatulate. Anellus lobe approximately 1/4 length of valva, slender and digitate, with base slightly curved inward; apex round, without apical bristle. Juxta broadly convex. Vinculum convex medially. Saccus very broad and short, not exceeding tegumen pedunculus. Aedeagus with basal 1/3 dilated, cylindrical to 2/3, narrowed distally; dorsal margin with a short triangular projection at 2/3; apex rounded.

Female unknown.

Variation. Three specimens from Cambodia have somewhat darker forewings without pink scales except at the apex .

Distribution. China (Hainan), Cambodia.

Etymology. The species name is derived from Latin albus (white) and maculatus, referring to the white dorsal markings of the forewing.
