Holotype: EEBP 368 , 76.3 mm SL ( Figure 7 ): Brazil, S„o Paulo, Descalvado, Areia Branca stream, tributary of Bonito River , Mogi-Guaçu River basin, tributary of Grande River , tributary of the Paraná River , ~ 21°52′53″S, 47°31′13″W, ~ 570m asl, 20 Jan 1951.

Remarks. A label stuck in an individual states that it is the holotype of Cetopsorhamdia iheringi ( Figure S9 ). The same information (including data on the locality) is available in a catalog of MHNP.
