Platypus acanthurus (Beeson) View in CoL n.comb.
Crossotarsus acanthurus Beeson, 1937: 61 View in CoL .
Carchesiopygus acanthurus (Beeson) View in CoL : Browne, 1962: 647.
Taxonomy. Only the male holotype and two female allotypes are known. These were said to be deposited in the Buitenzorg Museum (now Bogor Zoological Museum) by Beeson, but have not been located. Beeson (1937) noted that the elytra are similar to those of Crossotarsus psilacanthurus View in CoL (a species here transferred to Platypus View in CoL - see below), and his detailed description of both sexes indicates that C. acanthurus View in CoL should also be transferred to Platypus View in CoL .
Distribution. Indonesia (Java) only.
Biology. Unknown.
No known copyright restrictions apply. See Agosti, D., Egloff, W., 2009. Taxonomic information exchange and copyright: the Plazi approach. BMC Research Notes 2009, 2:53 for further explanation.
