Specimens: 10 exx., Turkey: Elaziğ (Hoşköy), 38°40′31′′ N 39°24′15′′ E, 977 m, M. Ataş leg. GoogleMaps
General Distribution: Species with a Palearctic distribution (Löbl and Smetana 2007), introduced into the USA but not established ( Simon 2014).
Distribution in Turkey: Ardahan, Balikesir, Bartin, Erzincan, Erzurum, Iğdir, Kars, Kayseri, Konya, Muğla, Diyarbakir Eğil (Central District) ( Ozgen 2018). The data presented here constitute the first record of this species in Elaziğ (Hoşköy).
Larval Host Plants: Despite Quercus spp. ( Fagaceae ) being considered the main host genus for this species, B. capucinus can develop on multiple other plants, such as Ericaceae , Fabaceae , Fagaceae , Moraceae , Myrtaceae , Pinaceae , Rhamnaceae , and Vitaceae (e.g., Fisher 1950; Halperin and Damoiseau 1980; Nardi and Mifsud 2015).
Notes. The species emerged from branches of the Ağin white variety (Ağin beyazi), specifically from those that resulted from pruning of the previous year.
