TYPE SPECIES: Mydaea scutellaris Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [= Musca corni Scopoli, 1763 ], by subsequent designation ( Coquillett, 1901: 139).
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [teste Pont (1986b: 155)].
