Material. — Paratypes (3 ovigerous females, 2 male), Gardner Bay, Hood Island, Galapagos Archipelago, 26.i.1933, Allan Hancock Expedition; 2 ovigerous females and 1 male, Punta Vicente Roca, Isabella, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, 2-10 m, on Muricea sp., 8.ii.1975, coll. De Ridder; 4 females and 2 males ( RMNH D 36492), Punta Cormoran, Isla Floreana, Galapagos, 21.iii.1976, on Muricea fruticosa , coll. De Ridder; 5 ovigerous female, 5 males ( RMNH D36498) - Isla de Rabida, Galapagos, 11.iii.1976, coll. De Ridder.
Remarks. — Orbits of all specimens are completely closed. Lateral margin of orbits feebly projected in small specimens (females and males), whilst significantly projected into a distinct carina, covering eyes at about 1/3 of its diameter in large ovigerous females.
Distribution. — Known from the Galapagos Islands and the Gulf of California; shallow waters, associated with gorgonarians of the genus Muricea (see Holthuis 1951; De Ridder 1980; Wicksten & Hendrickx 1985).
