Takedromia longispina McLay, 1993: 214 View in CoL , figs. 10a–j, 19c, d.
Material. 2 males, 13.2 x 12.4 mm, 16.5 x 15.9 mm, 1 mature female, 12.1 x 11.3 mm, 200–300 m, Dec 2000, ZRC 2001.393 View Materials ; 2 males, 15.6 x 14.5 mm, 17.2 x 15.8 mm, 1 mature female, 13.7 x 12.8 mm, Jun 2002, ZRC 2002.634 View Materials ; 1 male, 12.5 x 12.5 mm, 200–300 m, 2 Mar 2004, ZRC ; 1 ovigerous female, 17.1 x 17.3 mm, 200–300 m, Nov 2003 – Apr 2004, NMCR. All locations in Balicasag Island, Panglao, Bohol, Visayas, Philippines; purchased from local shell fishermen, obtained by tangle nets .
Remarks. This is only the second report of Takedromia longispina , a species previously only known from New Caledonia and the Chesterfield Islands at depths of 230– 365 m. The present specimens are larger and come from a similar depth, increasing the maximum known size for males to 17.2 mm in carapace width and for females, 13.7 mm. The major differences between T. longispina and T. cristatipes are: rostrum tridentate (versus rostrum continuous, without teeth in T. cristatipes ); and the anterolateral margin has only three long acute teeth (versus three or four blunt lacinated teeth in T. cristatipes ).
Distribution. New Caledonia, Chesterfield Islands and the Philippines.
