Genus Opisthoplatia Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1865 View in CoL
Type species: Polyzosteria orientalis Burmeister, 1838 . By subsequent designation.
Note. The genus Opisthoplatia includes two species ( Beccaloni 2007): the widespread O. orientalis and O. beybienkoi Anisyutkin, 2005 known only from the Mindoro Island of the Philippines ( Anisyutkin 2005). The range of O. orientalis includes India, Indochina peninsula, Java, China and Japan ( Princis 1967; Beccaloni 2007). I have never seen specimens of O. orientalis from India or Sri Lanka; it is likely to be an invasive species in these countries. The morphology of O. orientalis was described by Anisyutkin (1999).
