Phonotaenia aequinoctialis (Olivier, 1789)

( Fig. 3h View FIGURE 3 )

Distribution: BEN, BFO, CAM, GBI, GUI, MLI, NRE, RCI, SEN, TOG.

Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) BAF, BOL; 2) CAC.

Historic records:

— Bolama (BOL) ( Janson 1907 sub Gametis aequinoctialis Ol. );

Ecological data and a basic guideline to captive breeding are available for a closely related species [ P. balteata (DeGeer, 1778) ] ( Holm & Marais 1992; Malec & Šípek 2016). Biodiversity information (abundance, habitat preference) was provided for GHA by Mudge et al. (2012) and Joly (2018) and for BEN by Touroult & Le Gall (2013). The Guinea- Bissau adult specimens were sampled by CT ( Fig. 2b View FIGURE 2 ). It is a new species record for the CAC Administrative Region of Guinea-Bissau.
