Remarks. This species was identified from the Volga River and its tributaries. Coad (1981: 8) lists it as Abramis sapa . It is distributed in Eurasia, from Eastern Europe and Russia east to the Caspian Sea drainage. Therefore, Afghanistan is not included in the natural distribution range of the species. The presence of the species needs clarification.
