( Figs. 71–80 View FIGURES 71–75 View FIGURES 76–80 )

Diagnosis. Frons with two brownish yellow longitudinal stripes along fronto-orbital rows extending to ocellar triangle; mesonotum with a pair of strong prescutellar setae, closer to scutoscutellar suture than third post-sutural dorsocentral setae; haltere with knob blackish brown; abdominal tergites with narrow yellow posterior margin.

Description. MALE. Body length 3.9–4.9 mm, wing length 5.8–7.5 mm. FEMALE. Body length 3.5–5.0 mm, wing length 4.8–6.3 mm.

Head ( Fig. 71 View FIGURES 71–75 ) brownish yellow, with grayish white pruinescence. Face blackish brown, parafacial brownish yellow except outer margin yellow. Frons wider than long and parallel-sided, with two brownish yellow longitudinal stripes along fronto-orbital rows extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle black, ocellar setae developed, almost 2 times longer than anterior fronto-orbital setae, anterior fronto-orbital setae reclinate, shorter than posterior frontoorbital setae. Gena about 1/6 height of eye. Antenna yellow, the tip and dorsal margin of first flagellomere brown, 1.5 times longer than high; arista blackish brown except paler basally, pubescent with longest setulae shorter than 1/2 height of first flagellomere. Proboscis blackish brown, with white and black setulae; palpus black with black setulae.

Thorax ( Fig. 74 View FIGURES 71–75 ) black, with grayish white pruinescence. 0+3 dorsocentral setae; acrostichal setulae in six rows, with a pair of strong acrostichal setulae between first post-sutural dorsocentral setae and second post-sutural dorsocentral setae, almost as long as first post-sutural dorsocentral setae; a pair of strong prescutellar setae, longer than first post-sutural dorsocentral setae, and closer to scutoscutellar suture than third post-sutural dorsocentral setae. One anepisternal seta, two katepisternal setae. Legs brown, tarsomeres 1–3 yellow. Fore femur with eight posterior dorsal setae, six posterior setae and eight posterior ventral setae; fore tibia with one dorsal preapical seta and one short apical ventral seta. Mid femur with six anterior setae; mid tibia with one strong dorsal preapical seta and three apical ventral setae. Hind femur with one preapical anterior dorsal seta; hind tibia with one dorsal preapical seta. Wing ( Fig. 72 View FIGURES 71–75 ) hyaline and yellow at base, wing veins brown, subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R 1 and R 2+3), 3rd (between R 2+3 and R 4+5), and 4th (between R and M 1) sections in proportion of 14.7: 4.1: 2.9; r-m beyond middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 10.7: 5.5; ultimate section of CuA 1 about 1/4 of penultimate. Haltere yellow, except knob blackish brown.

Abdomen ( Fig. 75 View FIGURES 71–75 ) black, with grayish white pruinescence, tergites with narrow yellow posterior margin. Male genitalia ( Figs. 76–80 View FIGURES 76–80 ): syntergosternite semicircular. Epandrium nearly rectangle, tip of surstylus slightly curved forward in lateral view and curved outward in posterior view; hypandrium thin, with a pair of small inner processes. Distribution. China (Yunnan)

Remarks. The new species is somewhat similar to Minettia (Plesiominettia) zhejiangica Shi & Yang , but it can be separated from the latter in the body length 3.5–5.0 mm; frons with two brownish yellow stripes along frontoorbital rows extending to ocellar triangle; acrostichal setulae in six rows; haltere with knob blackish brown; tergites with narrow yellow posterior margin. In Minettia (Plesiominettia) zhejiangica Shi & Yang , body length 5.6–6.2 mm; frons without brownish yellow longitudinal stripe; acrostichal setulae in eight rows; haltere yellow; abdominal tergites black.

Etymology. The specific epithet is named for holotype locality in Yunnan, Nujiang.
