Rhopaloceras Taschenberg, 1882: 46 (Type species: Goniodes aliceps Nitzsch [in Giebel], 1874, by subsequent designation).

This genus contains 15 species, nine of them parasitic on birds of the genus Crypturellus View in CoL , and three species on members of each of the genera Tinamus View in CoL and Nothocercus View in CoL .
