Type material: Holotype: male from Estação Ecológica de Murici , Murici , Alagoas, Brazil [9°15’S, 35°51’W], 13–22 September 2003, Equipe Biota ( IBSP 120577).
Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality. Noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. The species seems to be close to K. extratheca sp. nov., with which it shares a retrolateral apophysis on the male palpal femur ( Figs 4 View FIGURES 1 – 7 , 10 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ), but can be distinguished from that species by having a long, stout RTA in the male palp ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ).

Anterior eye row 0.82 wide and posterior 0.80 wide. Palp with a retrolateral apophysis on the distal femur, long and stout RTA, posterior portion of the tegulum projected and slightly long embolus ( Figs 8–11 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ). Legs 4132. Length of femur: I 0.60, II 0.55, III 0.60, IV 0.75; patella + tibia: I 0.92, II 0.67, III 0.72, IV 0.95; metatarsus + tarsus: I 0.67, II 0.50, III 0.70, IV 0.80. Spination as in K. extratheca sp. nov.
Female: Unknown.
Remarks. Since females are still unknown, this species is included in the genus based on similarities between the male and males of other species of Kupiuka gen. nov.
Distribution. Known only from the State of Alagoas, Brazil.
