Promalactis lvovskyi Wang , sp. nov.

( Figs 10 View FIGURES 5–10 , 24 View FIGURES 21–26 , 36 View FIGURES 32‒36 )

Type material. THAILAND: GoogleMaps Holotype ♂, 45 km SW Lang Suon   GoogleMaps (9.77°N, 98.77°E), Chumphon, 170 m, 18.XI.2006, coll. Huemer (TLMF), slide No. TLMF-NK001 . Paratype: 1♀, same data as holotype, slide No. TLMF-NK002 ( TLMF) GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to P. curvitaeniata sp. nov. and P. biprocessa sp. nov. in the forewing pattern. It can be distinguished from them in the male genitalia by having a short free distal process of the valva about 1/3 the length of the valva, the uncus much long than the gnathos, and the saccus with basal half triangular and distal half digitate. In the latter two species, the free distal process of the valva is about 2/3 the length of the valva, the uncus is as long as the gnathos, and the saccus is elongate triangular in P. curvitaeniata sp. nov. and elongate sub-rectangular in P. biprocessa sp. nov.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 5–10 ) wingspan 7.5¯ 8.5 mm. Head with vertex snowy white, frons brown, occiput dark brown. Labial palpus with first and second segments orange yellow on inner surface, ocherous brown on outer surface; third segment black except white at base and apex, almost as long as second segment. Antenna with scape white; flagellum dorsally with basal 1/6 white and distal 5/6 white annulated with dark brown, ventrally dark brown. Thorax and tegula copper brown. Forewing pale ocherous yellow; dorsum with a sub-rectangular stripe along basal 1/4, edged with an obliquely straight white ling along outer margin; median fascia deep ochreous brown, broad, inner margin with a white band extending from about distal 1/5 of dorsum obliquely inward to about middle of upper margin of cell, edged with black scales on its outer margin; costal spot white, triangular, extending from beyond median fascia to above lower angle of cell; distal patch blackish brown, extending along termen and meeting median fascia; large rounded orange yellow spot between costal spot and distal patch, ill-defined; cilia ocherous yellow except deep grey along distal aprt of costal margin and around tornus. Hindwing and cilia grey. Fore- and midlegs black; hindleg yellow except tibia grey on dorsal side.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21–26 ). Uncus separated from base; lateral arms slender, medially arched outward, pointed at apex. Gnathos very short, about 1/3 length of uncus, deeply concave in broad U shape at middle on posterior margin, forming two posterolateral lobes narrowed to narrowly rounded apex. Tegumen divided from posterior 1/3, rounded anteriorly. Valva with basal 2/3 parallel sided, distal 1/3 slightly narrowed, with a free distal process; free distal process short, rectangular, with dense spines distally, straight at apex, curved toward base by an acute angle, about 1/3 length of valva. Costa almost straight. Sacculus uniformly wide, about 2/3 width of maximum width of valva, setose distally. Saccus wide at base, narrowed to about middle; distal half digitate, approximately 1.4 times length of uncus, rounded apically. Juxta relatively short; lateral lobes triangular, rounded at apex; basal lobe thick, clubbed, slightly longer than half length of saccus. Aedeagus slender, arched medially, approximately 1.6 times length of vlava; cornutus absent.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 32‒36 ). Apophyses anteriores approximately 1/3 length of apophyses posteriores; posterior apophyses widened distally. Eighth sternite very short, about 1/2 length of tergite; tergite sclerotized, sub-quadrate. Antrum trapezoidal, about 2/5 as long as entire ductus bursae. Ductus bursae shorter than corpus bursae, basal half broadeded, distal half distinctly narrow. Corpus bursae ovate; signum nail-like, with granules.

Distribution. Thailand.

Etymology. This epithet is after the famous Russian lepidopterist A. L. Lvovsky.
