Indian records: Punjab, Bombay ( Hampson 1896b), Kerala ( Mathew & Menon 1984), India ( Klima 1937), Chilka lake ( Annandale & Kemp 1915), Andaman Islands (South Andaman) ( Chandra & Rajan 2004), West Bengal (Canning, S. 24-Parganas), Maharashtra ( Bombay), Punjab ( Bhattacharya 1997), Karnataka, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya ( Sondhi et al. 2021), Delhi ( Komal et al. 2021). Global records: China, Ceylon, Java, Celebes, Vietnam ( Tonkin), Formosa, Sumatra, Lombok, Borneo, Philippines, Port. Ostafrika [ Mozambique] ( Klima 1937), a widespread species in Asia, recently introduced into central America. Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, Botswana, Angola, Congo, Nigeria, Madagascar (D. J. L. Agassiz 2012).
