Chloeia paulayi Yáñez-Rivera & Salazar-Vallejo 2022:519–521 View in CoL View Cited Treatment , Figs. 8 View FIGURE 8 , 9 View FIGURE 9 .
Diagnosis. Chloeia with bipinnate branchiae from chaetiger 4, progressively smaller posteriorly; dorsum pale; eyes minute; caruncle tapered, pale; notochaetae acicular and spurred, without harpoon chaetae; neurochaetae spurred and furcates.
Remarks. Chloeia paulayai Yáñez-Rivera & Salazar-Vallejo, 2022 was described with specimens from the Gulf of Mexico. It belongs in the tumida group because its dorsum has no pigmentation pattern, and its bipinnate branchiae start in chaetiger 4, becoming progressively smaller posteriorly. Further, as indicated in the key above, it separates from the 10 other species in the group because it has tiny eyes, and its neurochaetae are spurred or furcates. This species has been described recently and no additional specimens have been found.
