Material. One female: “ México: Veracruz, Totutla, Rancho de Los Vequia. Carr. 125, 7.4 km al E de la Carr. XalapaHuatusco. 9VIII2001 / Alt. ca. 1000 m. Acahual. Trampa de intercepción. C. Gordon col./ IEXA 5330233/ Oxyporus flohri Sharp, 1887 . L. Delgado det. 2003” ( IEXA).

Discussion. This record documents a new locality of this rare species. Oxyporus flohri was originally described based on two specimens (one of them is a male) from Alto del Tizar ( Sharp 1887), a locality in Mexico that could not be located (Selander & Vaurie 1962; Campbell 1969). Subsequently, one female was collected in Xico, Veracruz ( NavarreteHeredia & MárquezLuna 1995) and two females in departamento Zacapa (Rio Hondo and San Lorenzo), Guatemala ( Campbell 1990).

This specimen presents a color variation which has not been previously recorded in O. flohri : the posterior half of the elytra is black; the anterior half of the elytra is piceus; the ventral surface of the head is black; the pro and mesosternum, pro and mesocoxae are dark brown; the entire fourth and the anterior margin of the fifth visible abdominal tergite are black; and the third visible abdominal sternite has a basal dark brown belt.
