Differential diagnosis. Small and slender species ( Figs 57–61 View FIGURES 57–65 ), body size 12.5–16 mm, a brilliant bluish black; head moderately broad with prominent eyes but short with the temples abruptly shaped; presence of an obvious transversal impression between neck and occiput; interocular cavity moderately deep, narrow, with the two longitudinal grooves parallel posteriorly, the bottom poorly rounded; pronotum long, the ratio of length to width generally greater than 2,4, smooth; medial lobe conical, the sides feebly inflated; collum feebly marked and rounded; elytra moderately and regularly widened; gibbosity abruptly marked behind the concavity which is also obviously marked, then rather flattened on the top; sculpture shallow, irregular near the base and deeper in the concavity area, then punctate and decreasing towards the apex, which is generally smooth. Aedeagus ( Figs 124–125 View FIGURES 112–129 ). Endophallus ( Figs 62–65 View FIGURES 57–65 ), protuberances: VB relatively small; BL pair, relatively large and laterally protruding; DB relatively large and evidently biforked at apex; median part of endophallus elongated; V small, but well delimited; VA joined with large A; flagellum long and thin.

Comments. The likely synonymy of T. cavifrons with T. cyanipes has already been discussed by Naviaux (2002: 79). Our study of extensive material confirms this synonymy.

Distribution. Philippines (Sibuyan, Luzon, Leyte, Mindoro, Mindanao, Negros, Panay).
