Key to species of Pachysvastra females

1. Clypeus black ( Fig. 4a ); mesosoma, metatibia, and metabasitarsus with black pilosity ( Fig. 4b )........... P. leucocephala

- Clypeus with a subapical yellow band ( Figs 1b , 4c ); mesosoma with yellow pilosity or with whitish intermixed with black hairs; metatibia and metabasitarsus with yellowish pilosity ( Figs. 1a , 4d ).............................................. 2

2. Vertex and mesosoma with yellow pilosity, pronotal lobe with yellow hairs ( Figs. 4c, 4d ). T1–T4 with a narrow (~1× MOD long) translucent light brown marginal band; interocellar distance longer than ocellocular distance (1.16:1)... P. flavofasciata

- Vertex and mesosoma with mixed white and black pilosity, pronotal lobe with a distinct tuft of long, black hairs ( Fig. 1a ). T1- T4 with a broad (1.3–1.6× MOD) translucent light brown marginal band ( Fig. 1c ); interocellar distance shorter than ocellocular distance (0.9:1).................................................................
