Taxonomy. Original description: Leuciscus parvus Temminck & Schlegel, 1846: 215 , pl. 102, figs. 3, 3a-b [Nagasaki, Kyushu, Japan; lectotype: RMNH 2634 About RMNH ; lectotype selected by Boeseman (1947: 164)] .

Distribution in Iran. —Distribution in River Basin: Caspian Sea, Namak Lake, Hari River, Sistan, Lake Maharlu, Lake Orumiyeh, Persis, Tigris, Hamun-e Mashkid, Esfahan.—Distribution in Ecoregions: 434-Kura-South Caspian Drainages, 441-Lower Tigris & Euphrates, 442-Upper Tigris & Euphrates, 445-Orumiyeh, 446-Caspian Highlands, 447-Namak, 449- Esfahan, 450-Turan Plain, 451-Northern Hormuz Drainages, 452-Caspian Marine, 631-Upper Amu Darya, 701-Baluchistan, 702-Helmand–Sistan.
Status in Iran. [Exotic].—Amorche.—Listed in previous checklists from Iran by Esmaeili et al. (2017 a, 2018); Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. (2020) and Eagderi et al. (2022).—Iran material: ZM-CBSU.
