Description. Female (n = 11). Body fusiform, yellowish, 173 (150–188), 72 (69–75) wide, 49 (44–59) thick. Gnathosoma— Curved obliquely downward, 36 (35–38); dorsal pedipalp genual setae (d) 5 (5–6), pedipalp coxal setae (ep) 3 (2–3), cheliceral stylets 36 (35–38). Prodorsal shield— 55 (54–56), 61 (58–64) wide, sculptured with irregular short lines; frontal lobe emarginated; median and admedian lines complete, submedian incomplete, four transverse lines connected longitudinal lines forming networks. Scapular tubercles absent. Coxae— Sternal line present, coxal area sculptured with lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum І (1b) 9 (8–11), 17 (16–18) apart; proximal setae on coxisternum І (1a) 14 (11–16), 14 (13–16) apart; proximal setae on coxisternum І (2a) 30 (28–36), 33 (32–34) apart. Coxi-genital annuli 6. Legs— Segments normal. Legs І 37 (35–39), femur 12 (12–13), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 35 (31–39); genu 5 (5– 6), antaxial genual setae (l'') 35 (31–39); tibia 8 (7–8), paraxial tibial setae (l ʹ) located apically, much longer than normal, 25 (22–28); tarsus 10 (9–10), paraxial fastigial tarsal setae (ft') 20 (18–22), antaxial fastigial tarsal setae (ft'') 35 (31–38), paraxial unguinal tarsal setae (u') 6 (6–7); tarsal empodium 6 (6–7), 5-rayed, tarsal solenidion 9 (8–10), knobbed. Legs І 34 (33–37), femur 11 (11–12), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 29 (26–31); genu 5 (5–6), antaxial genual setae (l'') 6 (5–7); tibia 6 (6–7); tarsus 10 (9–10), paraxial fastigial tarsal setae (ft') 13 (11–15), antaxial fastigial tarsal setae (ft'') 28 (26–33), paraxial unguinal tarsal setae (u') 5 (5–6); tarsal empodium 6 (5–6), 5-rayed, tarsal solenidion 9 (9–10), knobbed. Opisthosoma— Dorsum with seven anterior annuli convex in a broad furrow, dorsal annuli 56 (54–56), smooth; ventral annuli 68 (67–70), with rounded microtubercles; setae c2 26 (25–28), on ventral annulus 12th; setae d 90 (77–100), 41 (40–43) apart, on ventral annulus 22nd; setae e 10 (9–12), 23 (22–24) apart, on ventral annulus 37th; setae f 35 (30– 43), 20 (19–21) apart, on 10th ventral annulus from rear; setae h1 absent, setae h2 80 (70–92). Female genitalia— Coverflap with longitudinal ridges, 16 (15–17), 29 (29–30) wide, proximal setae on coxisternum ІІ (3a) 6 (6–7), 19 (18–20) apart.

Male (n = 1). Body fusiform, 119, 48 wide. Male genitalia 18 wide, proximal setae on coxisternum ІІ (3a) 8, 13 apart.

Type material. Holotype, female, Bawangling National Nature Reserve (19°33´N, 109°53´E), Changjiang County, Hainan Province, China, 15-Sept.-2008, from F. variegata Bl. var. chlorocarpa (Benth.) King (Moraceae) , collected by Guoquan Wang. Paratypes, 5 females and 6 males, mounted on individual slide, with the same data as the holotype.

Additional material examined. 5 females and 1 male from F. benjamina Linn. (Moraceae) , Bawangling National Nature Reserve (19°33´N, 109°53´E), Changjiang County, Hainan Province, China, 14-Sept.-2008, collected by Guoquan Wang; 4 females 2 males from F. benjamina Linn. (Moraceae) , Guangxi University campus, Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, 18-Mar.-2009, collected by Guoquan Wang; 1 female 2 males from F. altissima Bl. (Moraceae) , Bawangling National Nature Reserve (19°33´N, 109°53´E), Changjiang County, Hainan Province, China, 14-Sept.-2008, collected by Guoquan Wang; 3 females and 3 males from Ficus microcarpa Linn. (Moraceae) , Bawangling National Nature Reserve (19°33´N, 109°53´E), Changjiang County, Hainan Province, China, 14-Sept.-2008, collected by Guoquan Wang; 3 females and 2 males from Ficus microcarpa Linn. Relation to host. The mites are vagrant on the undersurfaces of the leaves, no visible damage seen. Etymology. The specific designation is derived from the specific name of the type host plant. Remarks. This new species is similar to Glyptacus lithocarpi Keifer, 1953 , but can separated as follows: in G. microcarpae , prodorsal shield sculptured with irregular short lines, empodium 5-rayed, dorsal annuli smooth; in G. lithocarpi , prodorsal shield not sculptured with irregular short lines, empodium 7-rayed, dorsal annuli with microtubercles ( Keifer 1953).
