Distribution. Black Hill area, Kowloon Reservoir, Plover Cove Reservoir (GBIF.org, 2021); Shing Mun Reservoir; Lai King area (current survey).

Native range. Central and South America.

Remarks. Popular in the aquarium trade; frequently released in urban ponds. However, breeding populations have never been observed in Hong Kong.
