Biology. Submontane and lowland xerothermic bushlands, semidry broadleaf forests and Mediterranean forests. Parthenogenetic in most parts of the areal; males occur in Greece. Beetles nocturnal, occur in V–VII. Polyphagous.
Note. Bisexual form described from Crimea as O. strictipennis Magnano, 1999 . No males were found in all studied collection afterwards.Originaly related to Mediterranean forests and transitional biomes. According to original data it is a subject of introduction with cultivated plants and probably planting substrates in Central Europe. In two occasions (2011 and 2013) was detected in urban park area of Vienna ( Austria).During vegetation seasons 2011–2015 O. albidus was abundant in Magdeburg-Reform (Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany) on various cultivated plants in suburban gardens. In 1955 and 1965 it was found in Veselye Bokovenki arboretum (Kirivograd province) that is northernmost Ukrainian finding as known so far.
