Distribution. West Palaearctic; introduced worldwide with timber wood ( Hlavác & Maughan 2013).
Material examined. Crimea: 12 spec. ( ZMUN), Simferopol Distr. , Fersmanovo, in house, in rotting wooden floor, N44.905917, E 34.175556, 308 m, N. Yunakov leg., 13.vi.2010 GoogleMaps ; Lviv Prov.: 2 spec. ( SIZK) Lviv, V. M. Lazorko leg., 27.vi.1927 .
Biology. Littoral zone and wooden constructions. Adults occur in I–XII. In dead wet wood of various deciduous trees and shrubs: Salix , Ulmus , Acer , Celtis , Populus , and Cotinus coggygria ( Folwaczny 1973) . In Zakarpatska Prov. recorded on Quercus , Ulmus , Fagus , and Salix etc. [ Roubal 1941].
