Diagnosis: Geoplaninae with narrow-to-wide creeping sole, ranging between 51 and 83% of the body width. Eyes marginal. With sensory depressions. Subneural parenchymal decussate muscle present. Prostatic vesicle extrabulbar. Generally provided with a cephalic retractor muscle, branched glands associated with the prostatic vesicle and genital musculoglandular organs. Sarcoplanini include the genera Liana E.M. Froehlich, 1978 , Mapuplana Grau et al., 2022 , Pichidamas Bulnes et al., 2018 , Sarcoplana and Wallmapuplana Negrete et al., 2020 .
Type genus: Sarcoplana Almeida & Carbayo gen. nov.
Distribution: Regiones Maule, La Araucanía, Los Lagos, and Aisén ( Chile); Provinces Neuquén, Rio Negro and Chubut ( Argentina).
