In API 20NE system, positive for glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatin hydrolysis, and cytochrome oxidase. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, and trisodium citrate are utilized as sole carbon sources; while capric acid, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid are not.
