Genus Parexochomus Barovsky

Exochomus (Parexochomus) Barovsky, 1922: 293 . Type species: Exochomus pubescens Kuster, 1848 , by subsequent designation of Chapin 1965: 250.

Diagnosis. Form elongate oval, dorsum glabrous or distinctly pubescent. Antenna with 10 antennomeres, terminal antennomere very small and embedded in antennomere 9. Terminal maxillary palpomere stout, nearly parallel-sided, apical margin obliquely truncate. Pronotal basal margin entirely bordered with submarginal line; prosternal process narrow, without carinae and rounded at apex. Elytral epipleura distinctly oblique, narrowed towards apex and without foveae. Abdominal postcoxal lines complete and semicircular or nearly complete, reaching or directed toward midpoint of lateral line; mid and hind tibiae with a pair of apical spurs; tarsal claws appendiculate. Coxites elongate triangular. Female genitalia with infundibulum.

Distribution. Palaearctic, Afrotropical.

Included species. Two species, Parexochomus nigripennis (Erichson) and P. pubescens (Küster) , are distributed in north-western India and Pakistan.
