Diagnosis. Supra-antennal setae absent. Dorsum of oviscape with median, fingerlike process ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ). Membrane extending from apex of oviscape darkened, forming long, blunt processes ( Figs. 1–2 View FIGURES 1 – 2 ). Tarsomere 5 of all legs elongate, slightly pointed, with claws reduced.

Included species. Apocephalus longimanus new species, A. longimucrus new species, A. mesacanthus Brown & LeBrun , A. missouriensis new species, A. mucronatus Borgmeier , A. setissitergus new species, and A. weissi new species.
