Protologue citation:—“EASTERN HIMALAYA : Phari and Jongri, (Dr. King’s collectors!)”.
Type:— INDIA. Sikkim: Jongri (Dzongri), Tha-moo-tsa, 12,000 ft., Aug. 1887, King’s collector s.n. (lectotype CAL0000018988!, designated here).
Syntypes:— INDIA. Sikkim: Jongri ( Dzongri ), 12,000 ft., Sept. 1887, King’s collector s.n. ( CAL0000018987 !) ; CHINA. Tibet: Chumbi & Phari (Pagri), Ze-lep-la (Jelep La or Zalepla ), 27 Aug. 1882, [King’s collector] Dungboo s.n. (K000739113!) .
Notes:— Pedicularis regeliana was described by Prain (1889) based on the specimens collected from Jongri, Sikkim, India and Phari, China by King’s collectors. Two specimens collected by King’s collectors from Jongri, Sikkim, India are extant at CAL (CAL0000018987 and CAL0000018988) and one specimen from Chumbi & Phari, China at K (K000739113). The best one CAL0000018988, is designated here as the lectotype.
