sloping, central part of outer edge hunched, lower part straight and oblique, outer margin thickened, slightly bevelled, weakly stepped, inner lip straight, subvertical, bearing 9 small denticles, similar in size to the interspaces, larger denticle bordering siphonal canal, 3 lowest denticles separated by wide intervals. Four thin columellar plaits, 2 lower ones sinuous, oblique, upper one smaller, less oblique.

Ground colour whitish (faded), with 2 orange marks on upper part of outer margin and 2 more on lower part.

Dimensions: 4.15 x 1.95 mm.

Radula unknown.

REMARKS. — In many respects, Serrata bathusi is very similar to S. minima . Serrata bathusi differs mainly in its simpler and less oblique columellar plaits, its somewhat wider aperture, its higher spire and its more protruding upper labrum than those of S. minima . Serrata bathusi is sympatric with S. minima on the Antigonia Bank but an isolated shell was also collected quite a long distance to the north, off the Norfolk Ridge.

ETYMOLOGY. — From the Expedition BATHUS 3 (1993), during which the type material of the species was collected.
