Scolotosus centrolobii Flechtmann & Keifer #, 1971: 34 (thesis). Nomen nudum .

S. centrolobii, Amrine et al. 2003: 84 . Nomen nudum .

# HH Keifer in memoriam.

Type host. Centrolobium robustum Mart. (Leguminosae) , presently considered as belonging to Fabaceae family ( Lima & França 2020).

Type locality. Piracicaba , São Paulo, Brazil .

Remarks. Type species in the genus Scolotosus is known only from the type host/locality. The name Scolotosus , illustration and description first appeared in a thesis by Flechtmann (1971). Since a thesis cannot be considered a publication, the name Scolotosus , as well as that of S. centrolobii , its type species, cannot be considered as published for nomenclatural purposes.

Amrine et al. (2003), although citing Scolotosus and S. centrolobii and giving its illustration, did not explicitly indicate these as intentionally new, did not designate type specimens, and did not make these names available. These must, therefore, be considered nomina nuda. The description of the genus and its type species, as written in 1971 by Flechtmann & Keifer (in Flechtmann 1971), are presented in Flechtmann & de Queiroz (2010).

Relationship to host plant. Vagrants on leaves ( Flechtmann & de Queiroz 2010).

Type host plant status. Native tree, not endemic, occurring in Mata Atlântica biome, mainly in the Northeast and Southeast Regions ( Lima & França 2020) .

202 * Scolotosus hartfordi Flechtmann & de Queiroz, 2010: 25 .

Type host. Centrolobium tomentosum Guill. (Leguminosae) , presently considered as belonging to Fabaceae family ( Lima & França 2020).

Type locality. Campus Embrapa Florestas, Colombo (25º19’S, 49º09’W), Paraná, Brazil GoogleMaps .

Relationship to host plant. Leaf vagrants; no apparent symptoms ( Flechtmann & de Queiroz 2010).

Remark. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plant status. Native tree, endemic, occurring in Caatinga , Cerrado and Mata Atlântica biomes ( Lima & França 2020) .
