Diagnosis. Clypeus flat, the basally slightly convex; ovipositor 1.00 times as long as hind tibia with slanting ridges at the tips of both lower and upper valves.

Description (Holotype). Body length 10.30 mm, fore wing 10.00 mm, ovipositor sheath 1.50 mm. Head. First antennal flagellomere 1.50 times length of second; diameter of lateral ocellus 0.75 times ocellar-ocular space; frons smooth, elevated as two ridges above level of median ocellus; face 0.85 times as high as wide, slightly convex medially, with shallow and moderate-sized punctures, numerous long hairs; clypeus flat, basally slightly convex, apical margin slightly emarginated; malar space about 0.22 times basal width of mandible.

Mesosoma . Epomia present, length about 0.40 times basal width of mandible; mesoscutum with dense, minute hairs, notauli shallowly present on anterior 0.38 of mesoscutum, ending before line connecting centers of tegulae; scutellum strongly convex, apically smooth, without striations, lateral carinae extending to sumit; mesopleurum polished with moderately small punctures; epicnemial carina present on lower half of mesopleurum, postpectal carina absent medially; submetapleural carina higher next to mid coxa, with prominent lobe, lower part of metapleurum smooth, without any ridges; propodeum with areola parallel-sided, 0.77 times as high as wide, apical transverse carina weak medially, pleural part weakly present, dividing pleural area into two sub-areas; costula absent; petiole smooth; propodeal spiracle elongated, 3.25 times as long as wide. Legs. Hind femur 3.13 times as long as wide, length 0.85 times hind tibia, hind basitarsus 0.33 times hind tarsus, second hind tarsomere 0.55 times basitarsus. Wings. Fore wing vein 2 rs-m 0.50 times length of 3 rs -m; cu-a slightly distad of Rs+M; hind wing with first abscissa of vein Cu 1 about 0.44 times length of vein cu-a.

Metasoma. First tergite 1.67 times as long as apically wide; lateral carina on first tergite extending over spiracle; ovipositor straight, 1.00 times as long as hind tibia, 1.90 times longer than first tergite, lower valves with seven and upper valve with five slanting ridges at tip.

Colour. Ground colour light yellow; antenna dark brown, except lower side of first three segment; scape and pedicel with upper side blackish and lower side light yellow; ocellar area, frons and hind slope of vertex yellowish ferruginous; mesoscutum with three longitudinal brown stripes meeting posteriorly in black mark at base of scutellum, central stripe lighter but median part dark brown; lateral carina of mesoscutum blackish on anterior half; tegula brown and transparent posteriorly; scutellum with small, central, light brown spot; mesopleurum with black stripe along anterior margin, from level of base of fore coxa to upper margin, black stripe along posterior margin of mesopleurum nearly extending to mesopleural fovea; propodeum with back spots on first lateral areas and areola, area surrounding propodeal spiracle black; fore and mid femora, mid tibia ferruginous; mid tarsus brown; hind coxa with outer surface dark brown, inner side near apex light brown; trochantellus, hind femur on basal 0.20, apical 0.15 and lower 0.25 of anterior side and upper side dark ferruginous; hind tibia ferruginous; hind tarsus brown; wings light yellow, pterostigma and veins brown; each abdominal tergite with dark ferruginous to blackish brown area over basal 0.86, except first tergite with blackish brown area only medially; second to fourth sternites each with two blackish spots; spots on fifth sternite paler; ovipositor light brown, ovipositor sheath blackish brown.

Morphological variation. Paratype smaller body size (female: 8.70mm; male: 9.30mm), with narrower faces (0.90 as height as width), slightly shorter notauli (0.27, 0.31 as long as mesoscutum), posteriorly widened areola, shorter first tergites (1.63 as long as apical width), the male with larger lateral ocelli (0.80 times ocellar-ocular distance), and shorter first antennal flagellomere (1.47 times length of second flagellomere).

Distribution. The new species is currently known only from the type locality in Chu Yang Sin National Park, Dak Lak Province, Vietnam ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ).

Ecological notes. The specimens were collected in the secondary rainforest at elevation between 740−1000 m a.s.l.

Comments. This new species can be distinguished from other species by its longer ovipositor ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ).

Etymology. The specific name is given in honor of Mr. Rob de Vries , Collection manager of Hymenoptera and Diptera, the National Museum of Natural History, Leiden, Netherlands, who collected the type specimens and for his support for our research.
